There’s a group of investors in the United States that holds nearly $27 trillion in assets. For financial advisors, it’s important to get to know them—and their behaviors.
Accenture recently surveyed Generation D investors—Millennials, Gen-Xers and Boomers who increasingly depend on digital interactions. We also surveyed Gen D advisors to better understand how their profiles correspond to the investor segment. Here’s some of what we learned:
- Despite the erosion of trust due to the financial crisis, advice is needed and valued.
- Investors seek online education on basics and strategies, and advisor advice to better understand their risks and options.
- Advisors’ perceptions about their investors are making miscommunication more likely, contributing to the breakdown of the investor and advisor relationship.
